Lower Milford Township has a had a rich history. We have all been to events or social gatherings where some of our residents have talked about their past or their parents past many years ago. We have found these to be invaluable. We are trying to obtain stories about the history of our townsjhip either in written or in oral form. As we get these stories, we will post as many as we can on this site.
Robert Calhoun has written a wonderful story about how his parents acquired their farm. In it he ralates some of their interactions with Harry S. Treichler of Hereford, Berks County, Pennsylvania. He sold the farm to the Calhouns. The story is an interesting piece of history. However, it also illustrates the character and the will of Americans in the era surrounding the Great Depression.
